Mark Spaulding Stoddard died at the age of 70 in Boulder Community Hospital on August 20, 2022 after a long and difficult struggle with a number of health issues. He is survived by his loving wife Lynn and his children, Caitlin of Seattle and Shannon of Boulder. He will be missed by his siblings, Bill in Ohio, David and wife Lea Ann in Arkansas, and Ronna and wife Julieanne in New Orleans as well as his niece Sasha and his nephews Christopher and Jordan. He was preceded in death by his mother Jacqueline Stoddard and his father R. William Stoddard.
Mark was a devoted stay-at-home father. He was a committed supporter of his children’s education and activities, attending and volunteering for many school, sporting and extracurricular events.
He enjoyed rousing conversation around the dinner table and friendly games of poker. He liked walking in the woods, and thunderstorms, and writing, and reading about scientific innovations, and playing improvisational riffs on his guitars.
A private celebration of life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations would be welcome to Community Food Share of Boulder.
