Mary Ann Tucker

Mary Ann Tucker, 67, of Lafayette, Colorado, devoted mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully with her family at her side October 13, 2011 at Boulder Community Hospital. Mary Ann was born in Wichita, KS on December 31, 1943.

Mary Ann was the only child of Paul and Dorothy Groening, who preceded her in death.

Mary Ann grew up in Pueblo, Colorado. She graduated from high school in 1960 and attended college in Kansas. Mary Ann moved to Boulder with her parents and daughter Deborah Page in 1964. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church. She then began working for the Department of Psychology at CU- Boulder on September 6, 1966 and retired on January 1, 2006. Her years working at CU were some of the happiest years of her life, making many lifelong friends that she considered her extended family. Among her loves were music, animals, ceramics, writing letters, sending cards and visiting with her many friends.

If you were ever to see Mary Ann’s beautiful, sweet smiling face and hear her quiet soothing voice you knew you just met a lifelong friend and angel.

Mary Ann is survived by her only daughter Deborah Page; two grandchildren; one great granddaughter and extended family and countless friends whom she dearly loved. She will be truly missed by all.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Tuesday October 18, 2011 at First Baptist Church- Boulder. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday October 19, 2011, also at First Baptist Church. Interment will take place at Green Mountain Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment.
