Maryellen, 58, is remembered for her radiant smile, unending kindness and joyful love of life. A marathon runner, she could be seen on the South Boulder trails everyday with her friends . She was tirelessly devoted to kids, especially her own children. Living in South Boulder since 1979, Maryellen was a part of the Boulder Valley School District, especially Mesa Elementary School and Fairview High School. She was a teacher, mentor, tutor, and volunteer for over 20 years.
Maryellen was a loving sister, caring friend, always looking for the best in everyone and every situation. Her grace and kindness is an eternal gift for her village, which supported her unconditionally throughout her life, especially as she battled cancer, which she never let define her. Her strong faith guided her always.
We are blessed to have you as a loving mother, sister and friend, Maryellen. You’ve taught us all how to live and love fully.
Services will be held at Flatirons Community Church in Lafayette on Tuesday, October 19th at 3pm.
