Mildred Virginia Mascioli

I could have let my family write my obituary after I was gone, but there were some things I wanted to be sure and say in my own words. So here goes…

I had worn a lot of hats - Tillie, Millie, Mildred, and Matilde. My given name was Matilde Virginia Brogna Mascioli from Revere, Massachusetts. I spent my childhood in Everett and later on moved to the suburb of Framinghan, MA.

I had the honor and privilege to be a daughter, daughter in law, Aunt, sister, sister-in-law, cousin, friend and godmother. I was blessed to get to know and spend time with my four great grandchildren, Camden, Matteo, Matilde and Angelo. Of all the hats I have worn, being a Nonna of fifteen was the highlight of my life. I am proud of each and every one of them. Anthony Morris (Abby), Taryn Morris Reynolds (Roderick), Taylor Morris Spolidoro (Giancarlo), Carina Palumbo, Justin Mascioli (Morgan), Kyle Mascioli, Vincent Palumbo, Kaleigh Mascioli, Ryanne Mascioli, Nicole Mascioli and Connor Mascioli. I was a proud mother of my children. Teresa Morris (Richard, deceased), Tore Mascioli (Cezanne), Carl Mascioli (Donna) and Lisa Caldeira (Carlos, Andrew Palumbo, deceased).

I spent my entire career being a bookkeeper, office manager, and at times, a personal assistant of Marty’s Furniture in Boston, MA and retired in 2014. The Tozza family became my second family.

I loved my girlfriends, The Ladies of the Sea Shell and spent numerous times going out for lunch or dinner, playing cards and going for an annual getaway weekend at Well Beach, Maine. I enjoyed shopping, and loved watching Broadway plays. I was a Red Sox fanatic, and believe it or not, which led me to bet my house on the 1967 World Series. Sewing and knitting was one of my pastimes. I loved to cook, bake, feed people, decorate, travel and volunteer my time with St. Anselm Church, Sudbury, MA. I was a call center, a coffee house, therapist, spiritual adviser, and bank of Millie. I always looked forward to visiting my family in New Jersey and West Virginia. I was a woman with words of wisdom for everyone and gave myself the title as the Matriarch of Brogna and Mascioli families. I spent my last few years having a Alzheimer's. I thanked you all, my family who supported me and understood me especially when I didn’t even understand and comprehend. Joyce and Kevin Smith, thank you both for all the time and love that money couldn't buy. Your care and love to me was immeasurable and my family and I are eternally grateful for you both.

Lastly, and definitely not the least, I was a happy, blessed and beloved wife of my late husband Salvatore Mascioli Jr. We both had the pleasure to travel within the states and out of the country multiple times, and of course going to the casinos. I’ve always loved and enjoyed dancing with him, until our feet got tired. Now, we dance together even in life after death.

I hope and pray that for the almost 90 years here on earth, I will leave you with fond memories, wisdoms that you abide by and share with others. I lived a long, happy and blessed life and I pray that you will all do the same. Until I see you again and I love you all.
