Naomi Ruth LaPointe

Naomi Ruth LaPointe, 86, a long-time resident of Minnetonka, MN and Boulder, CO passed away on March 4, 2012 in Loveland, CO. Naomi was born on November 15, 1925 in Bondurant, Iowa to William and Pearl (Haney) Lewis.

Naomi is survived by her children; Marsha (Bob) McQueen of Ft. Collins, CO; William (Kay) LaPointe of Penrose, CO; Brad LaPointe of Minnetonka, MN; Sharalyn (Ken) Mitchell of Loveland, CO; and was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery LaPointe. She is also survived by her sisters Dorothy (Aubrey) Everly and Geraldine (Robert) Tufts of Bondurant, Iowa; nine grandchildren (Abigail LaPointe Mc Allister, Zachary LaPointe, Adam LaPointe, Aaron LaPointe, Ali Rae LaPointe, Mark LaPointe, Emily Faye Erlewine, Blake Mitchell, Brad Mitchell), seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Naomi graduated Valedictorian of her Bondurant High School class, graduated from Northwestern College (Minneapolis, MN), and worked for many years as the Executive Secretary to the Associate Director of the National Center for Atmospheric Research, Boulder, CO.

Naomi was known for her love for God, prayer for those around her and one who always held out a helping hand of hospitality to those who might be in need. She was an avid traveler, learner, hiker and one who thoroughly enjoyed and loved being outdoors. She reveled in the joy of loving her grandchildren and great grandchildren and always had a welcome place for each of them in her lap.

Visitation will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Crist Mortuary Chapel followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM. Interment will be held at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boulder. Please share thoughts, memories, and condolences with the family at www.cristmortuary.com.
