On August 26, 1939 she married Kenneth R. Auby in Grand Coulee, WA. In forty-four years of marriage they moved 18 times. Nina enjoyed being a homemaker and was a pro at making a loving home wherever they settled. They lived in Bremerton, WA., Sitka, Alaska, North Richland, WA., Massena, N.Y., Niagara Falls, N.Y., Long Island, N.Y., Lowell, MA., Kuwait, Savannah, GA., Tampa, FL. to name a few, before retiring to Coulee Dam where they met.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Larocque, Boulder, CO., grandchildren Darrell Larocque of Youngstown, OH., Suzanne Larocque-Tetreault and her husband Joseph Tetreault of Westminster, CO., and Lorraine Carter-Larocque and her husband Aaron Carter-Larocque of Denver, CO., step-grandchildren Monicque Larocque, Jesse Larocque, Dale Larocque, Cris Larocque, great grandchildren Renee Larocque, Jaci Larocque, Claire Tetreault, Louis Larocque and many nieces and nephews.
Nina was predeceased by her loving husband, “Stub” Auby, two infant daughters who died at birth, her siblings Frank Bergquist, Roy Bergquist, Carol McDonald, Alice Walton and great granddaughter Simone Larocque.
A memorial service is yet to be determined.
Place of internment will be beside her husband “Stub” at Spring Canyon Cemetery, Grand Coulee Dam, WA.
Donations can be made to an environmental cause in her memory.
