August 23, 1944 - January 11, 2024
Tom Klopf passed away at home on the evening of January 11, 2024 at the age of 79. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Lillian (Bothe) Klopf and Howard John Klopf. He was born in Bay City, Michigan, and graduated from Michigan State University before joining the United States Army and serving in Vietnam.
After moving to Anchorage, Alaska, he met his wife Donna. They married and had four children before moving to Boulder, Colorado, where he spent the rest of his life.
Tom was an avid outdoorsman who loved running, camping, and hiking. His youthful optismism helped him pick up hockey as an adult and learn how to snowboard in his late 40's. He continued snowboarding and playing hockey into his 70's and did not believe in the word "can't". He instilled his love of nature and sport in all of his children.
Tom is survived by his wife of 51 years, Donna (Corkum) Klopf, his sister Rosalee (Klopf) Tithof, and his brother Marlowe Brion Klopf. Tom was a loving and devoted father to his four children: Ross, Travis, Sonja (Jeff), Jordan (Courtney), and his two sweet grandchildren Lillian and Zane.
A Celebration of Life to follow this summer.
