Dear Hal,I'm sure you wont remember me but Patty Ann and I were like sisters growing up in Muscatine.For some reason in the nigt I had a tug from God to get in touch wit h Patty today.I didn't know she was already with the Lord and Savior and well ahead of all our woes.I just lost me husband Cully nine weeks ago today and I miss him so much it's hard to put into words.Only someone experiencing the same lost feeling can understand.Cully passed away on February 10 and now is walkig and talking with God every day all day What a comforting though it is to me when I feel especially low and alone without him.I know he is watching over me and guiding me until we are together again.We had our 64th anniversary on July 1 and were looking forward to 65 coming on soon.We were both blessed when God said we were for each other He mwant it to be forever as it is,was and will always be.Again my condllences to to and the family.Thank God He blessed us with five great kids who are keeping me looking forward.Remember me in your prayers.Forgot,,I'm Joyce Ludmen Ewert..We're still here in Texas where we've been since 1967.

Patty was such a hilarious and loving lady. We will deeply miss her kindness and her sweet smiles. Her gift (one very fine kitchen knife) to us 8 years ago, still serving in our kitchen here.

We have many fond memories of the days at the "Green House" (UNI) in Cedar Falls, IA.  Many students were saved under Hal and Patty's ministry and several became pastors of local churches in the area.  Patty was such a precious joy to know and be around!  Before Hal and Patty moved to Cedar Falls, Hal stayed with us overnight every Thursday so he could conduct meetings with the campus students on campus.  Such very special memories, indeed!  We know, Hal, this is a huge loss to you, but certainly a joy in knowing you will again be with her someday!!  Praying for you and your family!

Hal:  We are praying for you during this time of loss.  Patty was a wonderful wife and life partner for you, and the two of you were a great team that God used in a mighty way!  Thanks to both of you for your Godly example and your ministry for Christ, His church, and college students!  I am sure that Patty was welcomed home by her Savior with this commendation:  "Well done, good and faithful servant; enter into the joy of your Lord!"

Patty was a delightful, hilarious lady who was a dear friend to me.  I lived with her and Hal some years back, and it was always a pleasure to be with her.  I appreciated so much her quick wit and her love for the Lord.  She was a dear lady and will be missed greatly by many.  I am sure there will be more laughter in heaven now that Patty is there. Even my mom, who is very bad with names and only visits about once a year, KNEW who the sweet little lady at church was.  I was also impressed with her dedication to exercise, daily getting up and walking around the block every morning.  After which, she would slide the block back under her bed.  She will be greatly missed.  We send our sincere condolences to Hal and the family.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I (Kim) met you, Hal, and your sweet wife, Patty on the 2004 GLS Olympic trip to Athens.  I was very blessed to glean from your wisdom and experience witnessing to unbelievers in a conversation I had with you on a boat ride I believe.  I thought you were both so very very gracious.  Jim and I remember the McDougals from our days at FBBC and Jim's mom (Marilyn Holtz Saunders) is also from Muscatine.  We will keep the Miller family in prayer during this time of painful earthly loss.  Having our loved ones above helps us live out the directive of Colossians 3:2.  We look forward with you to the better city and country of Hebrews 11.
