Percy “Pete” Peterson died peacefully at his home in Boulder, Colorado on December 18th surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, his three children, Dori Moses (Robert), Dedra Brown (Trey), Darion Peterson (Farran) and his 6 wonderful grandchildren.
Percy was born the youngest of five brothers on November 30, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to Annie and William Peterson. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1962 with a BS in Mathematics. He married Sandra, his college sweetheart, in 1966. After moving to Boulder, Percy worked for NCAR. He was Deputy Director of the Scientific Computing Division until his retirement in 2003.
Percy was an avid sports fan, loved playing chess, solving math problems and working brain teasers. His greatest enjoyment was traveling with his family. He visited 9 countries and all 50 states.
