Peter was born in Bern, Switzerland, on April 8, 1957 and died in Boulder, CO on December 4, 2022, of natural causes. His parents, Fritz Daepp and Emma Daepp (nee Reinhard) preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Amy Daepp and his wife, Roberta Gold; his brothers Fred Daepp and Kurt Daepp, both of Zurich, Switzerland; his niece, Simone Daepp and sister-in-law, Irene Daepp; and his cousin Jurg Reinhard.
In his early career Peter worked as an architect apprentice and later became a realtor on the Swiss Federal Level. He came the United States in 1994 to study at the Economics Institute of the University of Colorado, Boulder. He met his wife, Roberta, in late 1994 and they married in 1997 in Boulder, Colorado, USA. Their daughter, Amy Greer Daepp (aka Grey) was born in 2004 in China, and they traveled to get her in 2005. Peter worked at various jobs in business in the US.
Peter loved to ski, hike, mountain bike, camp, and cook. He was a baker extraordinaire, and made lots of Swiss delicacies, most notably Zopf (a traditional braided bread) and wonderful desserts and tarts. He also made a fabulous Swiss fondue and shared his Swiss heritage through his food and language.
Peter also enjoyed traveling, having traveled to Africa, Israel, Alaska and parts of the US (especially the west), China, and Mexico.
Unfortunately, Peter suffered from chronic back pain and had several surgeries to try to help, to no avail. He then had two knee replacements. He could not enjoy his physical activities for the past several years, but he continued to enjoy reading and movie watching (action!). I’ll never forget his booming laugh at silly things in movies!
Peter adored his daughter and was extremely proud of her. He looked forward to seeing her graduate from college and grow into adulthood.
We love and miss you, Peterli.
