Phyllis Marie Laughlin

Phyllis Marie Laughlin, wife of William J. Laughlin and mother to Elizabeth, John, Patrick, Timothy and Suzanne, earned her wings on February 18, 2023. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home surrounded by family.

Born in Eldora, IA on November 21, 1930, she was the daughter of Isadore Nowasell and Christine Wolff Nowasell. Phyllis graduated from Eldora High School in 1949.

Soon after graduation, Phyllis moved to Denver. This is where she eventually met, and married, William J. Laughlin. The two were united in matrimony on January 28, 1956. Phyllis and Bill eventually made their way to Boulder, CO, where they settled in the Table Mesa area. This is where Phyllis and Bill raised their family.

Phyllis loved flowers. She was an avid gardener and took much pride in her yard and flower beds. Phyllis also looked forward to her daily power walks around her neighborhood.

Known to never carry a resentment and for her forgiving nature, Phyllis will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Let us not be saddened by her passing, but rather remember her for the time she was in our lives.

Phyllis is survived by one brother, Frank Nowasell, of Indianola, IA; by her sons, John Laughlin, Patrick Laughlin and Timothy Laughlin; and her daughter Suzanne Laughlin; as well as her grandchildren, Tristen Waters, Sita Waters, Jordan Crawford, Sophia Laughlin, Tehya Laughlin, Cade Laughlin and Emily Laughlin. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) J. Laughlin and her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Laughlin Springer.

A memorial service will be held March 1, 2023 at 11:30AM at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 3300 Table Mesa Drive, Boulder, CO 80305.
