Dear brother,
A year has passed. I have gradually recovered and become much stronger. Although sometimes I feel lonely and helpless, I try to face everything bravely Now everything is going well. Our parents are both healthy. There is not much work to do now. They only grow some vegetables to eat and raise several hens which lay eggs. They live a simple and happy life. Tongtong will take the College Entrance Examination next year. Although she doesn't do very well in her study. I think there is no problem for her to pass it. Wenyu has made much progress. Qingcai pays more attention to his study and spends more time with him. He often gets A in his exams. Xiao Lin is getting along well with her work. She is capable and hard-working and I am very satisfied with her. My sister-in-law and Xiao Pan are fine too. We often ring each other. Last month my sister-in-law came to Beijing to attend a meeting. She had a dinner with Xiao Lin and they had a good time together. She invited us to Beijing but our school had already begun, so we couldn't go to see her. Next time she comes to Beijing, we will go there and visit some places of interest with her. All in all, we are all fine. Please don't be concerned about us.

I could not believe that QingNong went to paradise so early. We developed our friendship when we both worked and lived in Boulder, Colarado, US. At that time he was trying to have his wife come to join him. He finally made it after I left Bolder. We also often went to a church on the campus of University of Colorado together for a English course. I still remember our English teacher's name is Susan. One day in a English class, QingNong happily told us he presented his work on a conference, and some conference attenders asked for his software for the simulation of atmosphere dynamics(?). Everyone of us was so proud of him. We also made a trip to Grand Canyon, Las Vegas together with a few other friends. He is such an easy-going, helpful person. His spirit will be eternal!

Dear brother,
Today is Chinese traditional festival --Duanwu Festival or the Dragon Boat Festival. We made  Zongzi and brought some back home to our parents. We made some Zongzi using glutinous rice , dates and peanuts. It is delicious. Mother likes it in particular. Next time I go home, I will make some more. 
Tomorrow is Father's Day and we bought Father a shirt, a pair of trousers and shoes. Although he often says it is a waste of money, he is still very happy. 
Our parents are both healthy and live a happy life. Please don't worry about them.

Dear brother,
Today I went to Juxian Hospital to see Qingying's mother-in-law. A few days ago, she fell down and her leg got broken. Yesterday she received an operation. Everything is going well and she is in good condition now. Sun Yulai and his two sisters are looking after her. She will leave hospital in about two weeks. 
I go home every weekend. Our parents are both well. Please don't be concerned about them.

Dear brother,
Tomorrow Qingcai will go to see you. Her flight leaves at 3:00 p.m. She has been to South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan before. So she should not have any difficulty in this trip. Please don't be concerned about her. Wish her a good trip.

I was shocked to learn Qingnong's leaving us at such a young age. I am grateful to have the opportunity to work with him for a few years. He is a good colleague and friend. I'll miss him. Chuanmin Hu (Florida)

It is with great sorrow that I just learned of Qingnong's passing at such young age. Although I didn't know him in person, I had great respect for him for his professional work that surely has contributed to the advancing of the science of numerical weather prediction. No soul should leave us this soon and so abruptly. I offer my condolences to his family and love ones and wish them patience. May you rest in peace, Qingnong!

It was with great sadness to learn a good friend who passed away in such a young age. I will always remember the time we spent together in the computing center at Nanjing University. Everything just like yesterday. May him rest in peace.

Lost a good friend, an excellent scientist

My heart has been filled with sadness for the loss of a good friend, roommate, and colleague since I heard the sad news! All the memories related to the time when we were in FSU come forth to my head with slides of pictures, just as fresh as yesterday......Qingnong is an easy-going, optimistic and accommodating person with a sense of humor. I will remember forever all the helps he had given me in FSU and his sunshinning smile! Rest In Peace! Best wishes to his family!

It's painful to know you have gone! It's even painful to only know that after you already left! I thought there were still plenty of time ahead of us and we could visit each other after retirement. I hope there is a paradise and you are well up there mate! Hope the family doing well with this sad loss.

Good memories stay, while still trying to digest the sad news. I was shocked and feel sad for the loss. But I still remember Qingnong's smile when we were all sitting in the Love building and Foothill lab. His kind help and words are still with me. Too early to say bye. Too late to say Thank You. I still remembered vividly many times Qingnong and I spent in conferences and home parties. He is going to be missed greatly for his dedication to his family and science. My prayers are with the Xiao Family at this difficult time...

I can not stop recalling how Qingnong warmly helped me so much to start my job and my life in USA 10 years ago. He is one of the most important person in my life. I am deeply saddened by  the loss of a great supervisor, a great scientist, and a great person.

Qingnong was a warm-hearted friend with great sense of humor.  I remember those years when we were together he was always smiling and willing to help others. Qingnong, we'll miss you.  Rest in peace.

Qingnong had a good voice. We all enjoyed him singing Karaoke songs at many parties we had together. He was a nice basketball player on and off the court. We will miss him.

Qingnong's smile, beautiful voice, calmness and dedication to his family and his work will be greatly missed! Rest in Peace! Our prayer and thoughts are with his family!

I can not stop thinking of Qingnong in the last few days. His mild nature and friendly smile keep appearing in my mind.
