Richard was born on October 17, 1933 to Milton Winter and Florence Winter (nee Bohn) in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
In life, Richard proudly served his country as a soldier in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. Richard was also an agent for Farmer’s Insurance and a member of the Boulder Elks Lodge, #566 as well as the American Legion.
Richard is survived by his wife, Cecile Winter (nee Warner) whom he married on April 28, 1956 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Richard is also survived by his children: Stephen R. (Amy) Winter of Maryland, Debbee V. (BJ) Summer of Colorado, and Karen (David) Borough of Colorado; grandchildren Kat and Jose LaCumba of New Jersey, Erin and Ben Jobe of Nevada, Connor Winter of Maryland, Robert and Heather Rexroad of Colorado, Katelyn Borough of Colorado, and Christina and Josh Knuteson of Colorado, six great-grandchildren, and a sister, Jan Specht of Woodruff, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
