Bob was born in Grandin, North Dakota on August 26, 1928. Born to many generations of farmers, Bob proudly carried out the farming tradition in North Dakota with his wife Patricia until 1962, when opportunity moved him and his family to Boulder, Colorado.
Bob worked for Beech Aircraft, where he was proud to have assisted on a project for the Apollo 11 spacecraft. His career then took him to Sunstrand Corporation, where he spent 18 years as an inspector. When he retired from Sunstrand in 1991, he enjoyed a post-retirement job at Flatirons Golf Course for many years. Bob and his wife were founding members of Mt. Hope Lutheran Church, and Bob stayed active in church activities until his death.
Bob will be remembered by his family for his quick smile, ready laugh and his love of dogs. Bob never left the house without dog biscuits in his coat pocket.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Patricia, who passed away in October of 2015. He is survived by his children, Veralyn (James), Jeff (Laurie) and Rebecca. His legacy includes 4 grandchildren, Jenna, Travis, Jeremy and Jacque, and 3 great-grandsons, Aidan, Bryant and Easton, who were the light of his life.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday, December 30 at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church, 1345 S. Broadway in Boulder, Colorado with a reception to follow.
The family requests that donations be made to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. To send condolences, please visit www.cristmortuary.com
