Robert Turnbull

October 16, 1927-February 13, 2012

Robert “Bob” Turnbull passed away on February 13, 2012 at Avista Hospital after a lengthy illness. Bob is survived by his wife Nadine, son Larry and wife Shawn of Jal, NM, daughter Christina and husband Richard Dias of Lafayette, CO, and daughter Connie and husband Mark Garcia of Longmont, CO, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his father Clarence Turnbull and mother Minnie Ash Turnbull and three sisters and three brothers.

Bob was born in Hedrick, Iowa and served in the navy during World War II. Upon his return he was trained to be a machinist and followed that trade throughout his life. He married Nadine Brown in 1949 and they lived in several states before settling in Colorado in 1958 where they built a home in Superior in 1964. Bob raised quarter horses and loved animals. He worked at Rocky Flats until 1983 when he became ill and had to retire.

Visitation will be held at 11AM on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Crist Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will immediately follow at 12PM. Interment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery. Please share thoughts, memories, and condolences with the family at www.cristmortuary.com
