Known to many simply as Curtiss, he was a measured stoic — a steady rock upon which his family and friends could always find their footing. His quiet strength and unwavering presence were a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
Curtiss lived with relentless energy and a deep appreciation for the natural world. He filled his days with biking, hiking, and exploring the landscapes he loved most, especially in Tennessee and Colorado. He had a particular passion for anything with wheels — from bicycles and motorcycles to his ever-growing vehicle collection. A true DIY spirit, Curtiss found joy in working with his hands and was actively renovating his Boulder home alongside his wife, Roxy.
He also held a deep love for the water — lakes and oceans alike — and found peace in sailing. The rhythm of the waves and the open horizon spoke to his soul, offering both adventure and serenity.
A proud veteran, Curtiss honorably served his country in the United States Navy Medical Corps, including as a member of the Ceremonial Guard. His service reflected the same dignity and dedication that defined his life.
Curtiss lived by the motto Carpe Diem — “Seize the Day” — and he embodied it fully. Whether through adventure, craftsmanship, or quiet moments with loved ones, he embraced life with intention and heart.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Roxy DeSantis-Nunally; his cherished children, Kaya Nunally and Cyruss Nunally; his mother, Rena Nunally-Brooks; his father, Charles Martin Nunally, Jr.; his sister, Ramie Nunally; and his brother, Charles Martin Nunally III (“Butch”). Each carries forward his strength, spirit, and love of life.
Curtiss will be remembered for his quiet wisdom, his adventurous heart, and the deep love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind.
Celebration of Life will be 1:00 PM Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Crist Mortuary Chapel. Inurnment at Mountain View Memorial Park, Boulder, CO.
