Sandie was my role model as a perfect Nursing instructor in the BVSD! We were all blessed to have her in our life!

Sandie and I were friends for sixty years. We meant when we pledged Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of Iowa and attended nursing classes together.We always shared our lives and family news particularly after we moved to Boulder from the East coast in 1988.
You have been my best friend for a very long time and I miss you every day.

Sandie and I had a special history since we were first cousins. Because I lived with our grandparents and she would visit, I knew her as a small child.
Later I lived with here family for 4 years and we grew up as sisters.
I was  her maid of honor in her wedding. Even though our lives took different tracks when we both ended up in Boulder we stayed in touch as well as our children.  
She had an interesting and incredible life.  She left us too soon and will be missed.
I am so sorry Chris and Katti that you had to loose your parents so soon.

Sandie was a favorite teacher and a mentor to me at a difficult time in my life. I was a student of hers at Boulder VoTech and was inspired by her; I eventuallybecame a RN and followed in her footsteps. I remember how she and Bill helped another student who was having legal difficulties. So sorry to hear of her passing.

Sandie and I were dear friends and colleagues at Front Range Community College for several years. She taught me so much, and most importantly, she made me laugh. I'll miss her every day.

We cherish wonderful memories - from the very first moment Sandie and Bill opened their home to us when we came  to Boulder as Fulbright students in 1976. And we are most grateful for that special and lifelong friendship and Sandie's loving care. She'll always be in our hearts. She hired me, mentored me and befriended me in my first years of teaching at Front Range Community College. I did get a chance to see her after retirement a couple times with her family. We have lost a great lady but she leaves a legacy to remember.

Dear, Dear Sandie. I will miss her so much. We knew one another for many years, but became dear friends these past several years. In Mexico, long walks on the beach, sharing our family stories and good reads beneath the palapa, teaching me to make peanut brittle. In Boulder, lunches and dinners so long that sometimes we had to be told we were the only ones left in the place! And, when we were in our separate homes, we wrote long emails we called our “conversations.” 
Katti and Chris, she was so proud of you two and cherished the memories of all the family trips you took -- and the later adventures with you, Katti. Chris and Kristin, she was so thrilled to be a full-time grandmother since you moved to Boulder, and she never ran out of stories about Brendon and Katelyn. Having them nearby and being so involved in their lives added great joy to hers. I thank you all for sharing her with me. Linda Downing

Kattie & Chris,  I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.  It is very difficult to lose one's mom. A hole that is unfilled.  As you know Kattie your mom hired me at BCH, hence that why we meet.  I would run into her from time to time and she was so proud of you 2.  Of course, she did a great job of raising you.  My thoughts are with you.  Always remember the fun times, and smile.  She would like that.

Sandie and I met in June of 2003 at a grief support group, following the deaths of our husbands the summer of 2002. We became good friends and continued to get together regularly after the group meetings ended. Our favorite place to meet was The Walnut Cafe in Boulder. Sandie always had the exact same thing, a three-cheese omelet with fruit and banana bread - and lots of coffee! She called it her "usual" and we always laughed. We talked about our jobs, our children, and Sandie's grandchildren. She was so happy when Chris and his family moved to Boulder, closer to her home, and she was able to spend lots of time with them. Family meant everything to her. I will miss her big smile and warm hugs and our long "catch-up" conversations at The Walnut.

Our love and sympathy go out to you Kattie and Chris and family. She was a very loving and caring person and will be missed by all who knew her. We spent many CU football games together and with you Kattie after Bill was gone. Many good laughs there and at their home. She had a great smile

I had the pleasure of teaching side by side with Sandie at both Boulder TEC and FRCC.  She was such a professional but also a very giving and kind person.  We shared many a memory and a good laugh.  Karen Schertz

Sandie was my dean at FRCC. I always admired her and enjoyed her good humor. She was a classy lady and I am very glad that I was lucky enough to work with her at the college. I will offer my prayers for her this week. She was a treasure.

Sandie was my sorority sister, my student nurse buddy, my college roommate, my dear friend and we were bridesmaids in each other's weddings.  We reconnected in recent years and had some fun "catch up" gatherings.  She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.  Kay Whitmore

Bill and Sandy I have known since 1956.  Bill was my roomie at the Sig House and when they were married I was BIll's Best Man. When married they took an apartment at my folks' motel in Coralville, Iowa and they, later, told me I pestered them to death. Sandie was my instructor at Boulder Valley Vo Tech and I had so much respect for her. She was a wonderful teacher and mentor. She will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Sandie's death.  At FRCC she was a dean, not my dean, but she treated me with care and respect and helped me navigate the change form high tech administration to education.  I am forever in here debt.  What a wonderful woman and I am honored to have been in her presence. I hope she knew how much I respected her and how much she was a mentor.

Some of our fondest memories are the good times we shared associated with tail-gate parties with Sandy & Kati for our beloved Buffs. Sandy's warm and enthusiastic spirit of support for the Buffs, and all of her friends will always be a treasured memory. She was indeed a very special person!

Sandie and I met when she joined Zonta Foothills, an organzation working to help women.  She was a quiet voice but one you really needed to listen to with wise thoughts and suggestions.  She served on committees and on the board and had a special interest in supporting women and girls with their education.  We talked sometimes on the phone the last year when she wasn't able to come to meetings.  She left her influence on our group and I will miss her.    Ann Hodgson

Sandi and I graduated from high school together.  She always looked like a princess, danced like a fairy, and walked with a beautiful posture.  As I drove home from church on Sunday, I thought " I must call Sandie."  She had promised to call me this fall and I didn't hear from her so I wanted to see her again for a cup of coffee.
