Charlie and Joyce (Johnson, Bush, Beutler) - 2023

Mom was so excited that Charlie was coming to visit!  She was staying with her daughter, Anita (Arvada, CO).  Joyce got up early that morning and insisted on getting dressed, doing hair and a little makeup before he visited.  Mom passed about 2 weeks later.  Carlie's visit meant the world to her!

This is a photo of the Roseland boys. We have known each other since grade school and have so many memories of growing up together.  Please remember that you are in my thoughts and prayers as you and the family go through this tragic loss.

I never knew Charlie personally, but I was one of the first Good Samaritans on the scene the day of the accident. My twin sister, a nurse, rushed to his side while I pulled my car over and joined the effort. An ER nurse arrived shortly thereafter, and together my sister and her guided the other volunteers until the paramedics took over.

In that instant I was reminded how fragile our time here truly is—how quickly life can change in a moment. It reinforced the need to cherish each day, love the people around us, and extend compassion to everyone we meet.

I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to Charlie’s wife and family, and to thank all the Good Samarians and first responders who acted so bravely that day.

RIP, Charlie. You will be remembered.
