Thora Muriel Lynch (Alsop) peacefully passed away June 15, 2016 in Boulder, CO. Thora was born March 10, 1919 in Braddock, PA to George William and Margaretta (Short) Alsop. Thora married the love of her life Harry Lynch Jr. on September 28, 1939. She was a longtime resident of McDonald, PA. Thora was active in the McDonald United Methodist Church, where she had many friends and where she lovingly taught Sunday school for many years. After Harry retired, they traveled across the country in a camper visiting friends and family. Thora moved to Colorado twenty years ago, where she enjoyed the dry climate and family trips to the mountains. She was a fiercely independent person with a special kindness for children.
Thora is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lynch Jr.; her brother, Robert “Bob” Alsop; and her sister, Margaret “Peg” Runkey. She is survived by her son, Robert Lynch of Boulder, CO.
A memorial service will be held July 16, 2016, 11:00 AM at the McDonald United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the McDonald United Methodist Church, 232 E. Lincoln Ave, McDonald, PA 15057
