Timothy Daniel Jones

Timothy Daniel Jones was born on December 19, 1953, in Wooster, Ohio, to The Reverend Milton David Jones and Rachel Morrison Jones, both of whom preceded him in death. Tim was the second born in the family, and his siblings include Jonathan D. Jones, Silver Spring, Maryland; Rebecca J. Seiden (Robert), Lafayette, Colorado; and Mary R. Shomaker (Steve), Durango, Colorado. He was one of four family members born on December 19th, sharing a birthday with his sister Mary, brother-in-law Robert, and Nat, the son of cousin Sue Lippert.

The Jones Family lived in Shaker Heights, Ohio, and Cincinnati, Ohio, before making Boulder, Colorado, their home in 1969. Music was an important part of his childhood; he played the Trumpet and French Horn, and he always appreciated brass music. Tim graduated from Fairview High School in 1972, serving as Head Boy in his senior year.

He attended Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, before graduating from Colorado State University in 1978, earning a dual degree in IT and Accounting. Tim enjoyed being an Athletic Trainer, both in High School and in College. He married Alanna Abbott in May 1975, and they had a son Nathan Daniel Jones of Denver, Colorado, who was born on August 8, 1980. Tim and Alanna divorced in 1984, and he then moved to Fort Collins, Colorado.

He spent several years in Fort Collins with Belinda Tomlinson. In 2008, he reunited with a high school classmate, Penny Anderson Sargent, with whom he purchased Stand Sure Vineyard in Salem, Oregon. His dream was to return the property to a Bed and Breakfast in Oregon Wine Country. Penny and Tim had recently purchased a home in Lakewood, Colorado to be closer to his grandchildren, Jack and Lily Jones.

His working career included Arthur Anderson and Company, 1978-80; Vail Associates, 1980-1984; Hewlett-Packard, 1984-1997; and Anderson Consulting/Accenture, 1997-1999.

Tim leaves behind six nieces, two nephews and eight cousins.

Tim will be remembered for his thirst for knowledge, wonderful sense of humor, and love of life. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

A committal service for Timothy will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Mtn. View Memorial Park, 3016 Kalmia Ave., Boulder, CO 80301. Following the Timothy D. Jones committal service will be a memorial reception from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Place, CO 80301-1805.
