Tina was an amazing woman who loved her family more than life. She loved living in Colorado and she loved her profession of serving others.
In her youth, Tina was an avid snowboarder, shredding the slopes before it was a mainstream winter activity. She spent her Wednesday nights leaving the Justice Center and venturing up to Eldora for some night skiing and pursuing her passion on the weekends at A-Basin and in the back bowls of Vail. Tina also enjoyed golf. She loved everything about Colorado, with the small exception of a couple of winter months. Most of all, Tina loved her mom, her home and their gardens. With her mom, she spent countless hours caring for their gardens and enjoying the Colorado outdoors.
She graduated from the University of Colorado – Boulder with a dual major in communications and sociology. In pursuit of her passion she began her career serving others in the airline industry. A few years later, she served the 20th Judicial District Courts working with the judges and staff to ensure fair, equal and just access to the courts, and also caring for the staff of the 20th with their human resources needs. In the early 1990’s Tina’s passion for serving others grew into helping to develop a charter high school for at-risk students in Boulder County. Behind the scenes, she managed the fledgling school’s finances and helped the school grow into a highly respected charter school with over a million-dollar budget. When Tina left the courts, she devoted her full attention to at-risk youth working for Boulder Prep, Denver Public Schools and finally Justice High School in Lafayette Colorado.
Her parents, Bob and Ellen Lesniak proceeded her in death. In perpetual memory of Tina’s passion, we have created a scholarship fund in her name to be given to Justice High graduates as they pursue they post-secondary education. Donations can be made to Justice High School 805 Excalibur Street, Lafayette, CO 80026
