Twila Brungard

Twila Jean Brungard of Erie, Colorado passed away peacefully Sunday March 13, 2016 in Louisville, Colorado at the age of 69. She was born May 21, 1946 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Earl D. and Goldie M. Compton. Twila graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a degree in Elementary Education. After college she married Jerry Morris, and they had two girls Kristy and Cheryl. They later divorced. In 1995 she married Robert D. Brungard in a romantic ceremony on Coronado Island- San Diego.

Twila loved the mountains, she loved to go hiking and was always up for an adventure. She was very active at her church and had an infectious passion for God’s Word, studying with “The Cluckers” – her close knit bible study group that had been a constant in her life for the past 15 years. Twila was very devoted to her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She had a wonderful appetite for life, love, and laughter. She will be greatly missed here, but what a gift she is to our loved ones in heaven.

Mrs. Brungard is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Kristy Banas (Keith), step-daughters Dian Hastings and Robin Smart (Coby), six grandchildren: Christian, Danielle, Beverly, Robert, Lauren, and Vivienne, and her brother Rhyle Compton. She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Goldie Compton and her daughter Cheryl Morris.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Thursday March 17, 2016 at Calvary Bible Church Erie Campus - 615 Evans St. Interment will be held 2pm Thursday at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3400 W. 28th St, Greeley, CO. The family requests memorial contributions in lieu of flowers, made to Tru Community Hospice, www.trucare.org/product/donation or in person at 2594 Trailridge Dr. East, Lafayette, CO 80026.
