
Wayne Palmer Collier, 61, of Boulder, Colorado, passed away on October 8, 2025. Born to Richard Collier and Charlotte Porter, Wayne dedicated over 40 years of his life to advancing the field of seismic data analysis for oil and gas exploration.
As a Principal Engineer and Lead Developer, Wayne was the driving force behind flagship projects that revolutionized how companies approach exploration technology. His passion for his work was matched only by his loyalty to the teams he led and his unwavering commitment to improving the science of seismic data analysis. Throughout his four-decade career, Wayne's expertise and innovation left an indelible mark on the industry.
Beyond his professional achievements, Wayne was the life of every party and the heart of every family gathering. He had an extraordinary gift for making people laugh, whether through his animated storytelling or his infectious enthusiasm. Family and friends will fondly remember him arriving with frisbees in hand, ready to bring joy and laughter to any occasion.
Wayne was an avid outdoorsman who found his truest peace in the Colorado mountains. Most weekends, you could find him hiking mountain trails, camping under the stars, biking through alpine terrain, or conquering the most challenging ski slopes with his beloved ski club. Whether he was on the water boating or carving down a double-black diamond run, Wayne approached every adventure with the same passion and zest for life that defined him.
Wayne is survived by his four siblings: Connie, Daniel, Matthew, and Angie. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Collier, and his mother, Charlotte Porter, beside whom he will be laid to rest.
