

William Hallie Cook Jr., a 15 year resident of CO, passed away December 31, 2015. He was 87 years of age. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Cook, his daughters Valerie Graham and Gwynn Cook, his son-in-law, Gregory Graham, all of CO, his grandchildren Jennifer Graham of CA, Ryan Graham and Alison Waara, both of CO, and step-grandson Michael Waara of CO. He is predeceased by his siblings Gloria Sayles of Brooklyn, NY, and Gary Cook of Mansfield, TX.
Hallie was born in Bossier City, LA to William Hallie Cook, Sr. and Olive Ruth Cook. As a teen he and his family moved to Maplewood, LA. When the Korean War began he joined the USAF and served as a radar operator. Following Hallie’s return from the service he went back to work at Cities Service Oil Refinery in operations. He married Dorothy Dugas in 1957. He then returned to McNeese State University where he finished his Art degree while continuing a successful career at Cities Service until he retired at the age of 55. Hallie resided the majority of his life in Westlake, LA with his wife and daughters. His lifelong passions included mineral and gem collecting, traveling, and tending his ranch.
Hallie lived his life as a Christian, guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ. He was a generous friend, loving father, and devoted husband. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial service will be held Thursday, Jan 28th, 3:00PM in the chapel at Rocky Mountain Christian Church, 9447 Niwot Rd., Niwot, CO. The service will be followed by a reception.
