To Bills family and close friends,

I have been wondering why Bill hasn't returned my emails. So today August 24th, 2012, I did a Google. To my shock we have lost Bill. Bill and I attended a 1 year  IBM Technical school in the Hudson valley. During that time most of the students became very close. Bill was like a cornerstone of the class.

After attending the school I was looking for a new profession. I spoke with Bill about computer programming. Bill was the one who convinced me to give it a try. I owe my thanks to him for the advice. 

I'm sure Bill is somewhere up in heaven, setting up a network for St Peter.

Bill we miss you.

To Chris and the HIlton family... The friendship and care the Hilton family has shown to our family (your neighbors next door Adrian and Dora) over the years has been exceptional.  You and your family have always been there for them and Chris you still are for your other "Grandma Dora", we think the world or you  and thank you for caring.  We can only offer our friendship as a comfort for the loss of your mother and now your father.  Please accept our sincere condolences and we hope to see you again soon.

What a special service today for Bill. I will miss him greatly.  It was good to see you from a distance Chris.  I pray God continues to grant his peace to you.  Your dad was a fantastic co-worker, friend, advocate for others as well as himself.  I do believe he saw the potential in everyone he met.  His very present personality--the one he was born with--leaves a vacuum now that he is gone.  It is hard to believe.  I am sure he is filling his area of heaven fully and entertaining those around him, including your mom.  Aware of Christ's love for us, Denise Dicks and family.

My prayers and thoughts go out Bill, his son Chris, along with Bill's family members and his many many friends and colleagues. In less than 4 months (April 5, 2012) I mark my 30th anniversary when I joined IBM in Poughkeepsie NY and first met Bill.  Like many others who had a chance to meet him, he immediately became a dear friend, colleague, mentor, and coach. But most of all he was a great & caring human being.  I can never thank Bill enough for all that he has done for me both inside IBM and with life overall.  I will always treasure his helping me on many fronts, i.e. become a systems programmer (November 1984), an IBM Manager (April 1986), assisting him with the nearly year-long move of IBM World Trade from Poughkeepsie to Boulder, CO (April 1986-March 1987), and on and on.  These were all very special times. I will always cherish the memories.  Thank you Bill all for that you done for me and countless others.  With deepest sympathy but blessed that I had the pleasure of knowing you, Joe

Chris and family..to finish...... your Dad and I and another friend were inseperable friends as kids...we did everything together eventually the 3 of us joined the Navy and as time passed we lost touch, but I remember Billy Hilton as my good friend..we spent a lot of time on South Miller and Johnston Streets..it doesn't seem that long ago....God Bless

My deepest sympathy to the HIlton family. I remember Bill(y), he was friends with my older brother Bill(y); we lived around the corner from each other, Bill, Anna, Dennis & Joey on South Miller St., and us on Johnston St. Seeing the photos bring back great memories of days gone by. The Bill I remember was always kind and funny! and smart, and from what I've read of his life, he remained that way: a wonderful man who lived and loved to the fullest. May your memories comfort and sustain you through this most difficult time.

We have lost a truly wonderful man.  Bill always had a great sense of humor; even through serious health issues he could crack a joke or tell a funny story.

I am very fortunate to have had both Bill and Helen as friends.  My deepest
sympathy to Chris and Ann and Bill's brothers.

Chris and Mom my deepest condolences for your loss. I will always miss my favorite Uncle, and the Navy Marine Corps banters we had.  Bill you're in a better place, and as I am sure you know by now Heaven is guarded by Marines

Chris, Ann, Denny and Joey:  My sincere sympathy to each of you.  Bill was very special to his Hilton relatives in Pennsylvania, especially to Uncle Harry.  I will never forget his funny personality and his great smile. Just know that he is at peace and no longer in pain.

Chris - it was a joy for the Sprankle's to live next door to the Hilton's on Plains Road during the time you Chris, Geoff and Jenny were growing up! Making memories! Your dad and mom were the best friends we ever had (even though your dad loved to tease) and watching them raise you showed us what great parents they were as well.  We will miss your dad tremendously as we miss your mom but it is comforting to know they are together again. Your dad mentioned to me just before Thanksgiving how proud he was of you for being so strong and for doing so much.  We too are so proud of you Chris for being such a loving and caring son...May it comfort you to know that your mom and dad will always watch over you - please let us know if there is anything we can do.

Christopher,  Your father was really a fine man, and told me on numerous occasions how much he cared about you.  We met following your mother's passing, and I have thought about you and your dad so many times since.  It became routine, for my family and me, to look for you when shopping at Whole Foods.  You always seemed happy to see us we were always happy to see that you were well.  I will be in Colorado at some point next year, and I will stop by Whole Foods to see you.  Many Blessings.

Chris and family please accept my condolences on the passing of your Dad. He and I and another friend

Our condolences to Bill's family. A champion of his employees, I can surely attest and for all his pain, I never remember him without a smile & firm hand shake. Bill was one of a kind and I am blessed that our paths crossed if only briefly.

Chris, you are so blessed to have had such wonderful parents... their love for you was special. I know how much you miss them both, but remember they will always be in your heart. May their love for you always bring you smiles and comfort. I had the pleasure of knowing Bill for 15 plus years and always treasured his friendship and sense of humor. I'll miss him dearly but I know he's with Helen, which warms my heart. The love they shared is rare, special and everlasting. 

I'll miss you Bill and will always treasure the funny Christmas ornaments that you (and Helen) gave us "golden girls" every year. Much love always!!

Bill was my best male friend for close to 50 years and was like a brother to me. We shared many good times as well as bad, but most of all we shared a love for Helen.
