Alice Mae Homan, of Bradenton passed away Wednesday May 23, 2018. She was born in Genoa Nebraska. Alice joined the United States Air Force where she met and married her true love Richard Homan; she left the Air Force to become a mother and homemaker. She experienced many memorable moments as a military wife with Richard as he served in the Air Force for 23 years. Richard served as a Band leader in the Air Force and along with Alice shared a love of music; her favorite was the sound of the Big Band where she would get all decked out with Richard. Alice and Richard spent many years enjoying sailing and towing around their sailboat, Alice also enjoyed bowling with her daughter Tracy and participated in many National Bowling Tournaments, and served as secretary of many leagues. Alice and Tracy would spend many hours playing her favorite game scrabble.
She is survived by loving Daughter’s Tracy (James) Whitlock, Deborah (Greg) Clyde, son Richard (Amy) Homan, sister Donna Lou O’Brien grandchildren, Amanda Phillips, Ryan Homan, Stephanie Freida, Scott Clyde, 6 great grandchildren and special friend Jean Clayborn.
Besides her husband Richard Homan, she is preceded in death by her parents Ross & Anna Irish, stepmother Bessie Irish, and brother Allen Irish.
An inurnment service will be held Graveside at Glen Haven Memorial Park, Winter Park Florida on August 4, 2018 at 12pm. Manasota Memorial Park and Funeral Home is entrusted with final care. In lieu of flowers please give to Tidewell Hospice.
