Born July 10, 1917, in Jenkins Jones, West VA, he was a son of the late Leonard and Laura Rigney Morris.
Mr. Morris was a United States Army WW II veteran, and was a member of the American Legion Post 24. He was very active in his community and worked with the Cedar Hammock Fire Dept. for many years, as well as the FHP Auxiliary for 16 years, and helped to start a local gun club. He was known for his ability to fix just about anything.
Survivors also include three children, L.J. Burch, K.A. Miller, and K.C. Morris, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Manasota Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the funeral home by the Rev. Mark Hueberger. Interment will follow in Manasota Memorial Park.
