Brian Cole Stufflebean

Born on October 27, 1964, in Hamilton, Ohio, Brian had a large family. He grew up with his parents, Jerry Dwayne Stufflebean and Sharon Lee Stufflebean, and his siblings, Amy, Chris, Holly, Rosa, Lauryn, Anna, and Victoria. He grew up in Lancaster, Ohio as a child and then moved to Connecticut. As a teenager he moved to Rochester, Michigan, where he met his future wife Laura at church. Brian and Laura started their family in Michigan. He very much enjoyed working at General Dynamics.

In 1992, he moved his family to Hudson, Ohio. They spent 14 years there before moving to, and ultimately settling in, Bradenton, FL in 2006. One of Brian’s favorite memories from growing up was staying with his maternal grandfather, Alfred Lowell Cole, and his grandmother, Alveeta June Cole. Brian loved to spend time with them, and he would often recount his grandfather’s story of the Red Truck.

Brian worked as an entrepreneur for most of his adult life. He was very wise and was known in the workplace for his integrity, standing firm for what was right, and his commitment to do everything to the best of his ability.

He married his high school sweetheart, Laura, his loving and devoted spouse of 42 years, on July 21, 1984. Brian always said that the first time he saw Laura he had heard God tell him that she was his future wife. They dated for 3 years before they were married. Together they raised 6 children: Elysha, Aaron, Matthew, Rachel, Joseph, and Hannah. Brian was a devoted parent, and a soon-to-be grandparent through his son Joseph and Joseph’s wife Haley. Brian loved Jesus and his family more than anything. He loved golf, reading, movies, and much more. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He loved family dinners where everyone would get together and just talk for hours on end. He loved to take his family to Disney World. Brian specifically loved the food and wine festival at Epcot, trying all the foods, especially the Australian shrimp and ending the evening with fireworks.

Brian enjoyed many movie nights with his family. Those movies would often lead to long discussions, which Brian loved, about God, family, theology, and philosophy. Some of Brian’s favorite stories revolved around men who stood up for what was right and fought for a peaceful life with their families; these themes resonated to his core. Brian’s two greatest joys and callings in life were to His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to the family that God had blessed him with. Brian would want us to know that God is always faithful through every circumstance. Brian leaves a lasting legacy, one of fighting for the truth, standing up for what is right, turning the other cheek, and caring for his family.

Brian was so looking forward to the future, the joys of becoming a grandfather, and watching his six children grow into all that God has called them to be. Although we miss him dearly, it is with great hope that we look forward to the future with him in Heaven, as Brian is now at his beginning of eternity.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Bayside Community Church, Lakewood Ranch Campus, 15800 SR 64 E., Bradenton, Florida 34212, 6:00 PM, on August 17, 2026.
