Carlos H. Baserva Sr., of Bradenton passed away Friday November 24, 2017. He was born February 25, 1928 in Santiago De Cuba, Cuba. Carlos relocated his family to Miami, fleeing the communist regime in 1959. Carlos graduated from the University of Santiago with a journalism degree. After settling in Miami he worked several jobs to support his family. He also quickly began to teach and coach baseball which was one of his biggest passions in life. In 2004 he moved to Bradenton, Florida to be close to his two son's. Carlos loved fishing, cruising, dancing and lived for watching baseball games. Carlos will be mostly remembered by his baseball students which he dedicated his time to make sure they all succeed in life and in sports. He is survived by his wife Hilda M Casal Baserva, daughter Maria Elena Baserva, Son Carlos (Jeanne) Baserva, grandson Brandon Baserva, one sister Alma G Tejeda, one brother Jose Rafael Baserva Soler and many nieces and nephews . He is preceded in death by his son Jose A Baserva. Visitation will be held on Thursday November 30, 2017 from 12pm to 2pm at Manasota Funeral Home 1221 53rd Ave East, Bradenton Florida, Funeral will follow at 2pm in the funeral home. Burial will follow service in the Manasota Memorial Park. Manasota Memorial Park and Funeral Home is entrusted with final care.
