

Kate was predeceased by her devoted husband of 50 years, Maurice “Moe” DeLorenzo, her first-born daughter Maryann, her parents Joseph and Dorothy Morabito, her brother Paul,
brother-in-law John, nephew John, and her most fond Uncle and Aunt, Henry and Josephine Zuppello.
She is survived by her daughters Jeanette Brady (Kevin), Catherine (Tom), and Barbara, sons Maurice (Randy), and Paul (Deniz), sister Lilian LaMattina, nephew Robert (Michelle), sister-in-law Helene DeLorenzo, and her grandchildren Christopher, Nicholas and Chloe.
Catherine was born on May 14th, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY to proud parents Joseph and Dorothy Morabito. She was “Love Number One” to her doting Uncle Henry and Aunt Josie, who lovingly
raised her.
Kate married Moe, the love of her life, on January 14th, 1957. Together they raised six children. She was the epitome of a devoted wife and mother and was known for her exceptional culinary
skills. She affectionately hosted Sunday dinners and Holidays, always including extended family. This tradition she carried with her to Sarasota, often inviting acquaintances that had no
nearby family, to her table. When her children were all school-age, Kate, also caring for aged family members, decided to
put on yet another hat, and embarked on a career at Chemical Bank in lower Manhattan, where she worked in the encoding department for nearly 20 years. She was a valued coworker to all
there.
Catherine was a devout Catholic and active member in her local parishes; first at St. Martha, and ensuingly at St. Jude upon its consecration. She was a trusted friend to many parishioners,
as well as a number of the clergy and religious. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 11th, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:30pm at St. Jude Catholic Church, 3930 17th St, in Sarasota. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St
Jude food pantry.
