Dave was born on January 4, 1950, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to George and Esther (Pfeffer) Shoemaker. In 1987, Dave and his family relocated from Johnstown to Bradenton, Florida, where he made his home for nearly three decades.
Dave is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Connie (Rager) Shoemaker; his son, David Shoemaker; daughter-in-law, Karen (Conklin) Shoemaker; grandsons, Matthew and Michael Shoemaker; and granddaughter, Megan Shoemaker, all of Bradenton. He is also survived by extended family Mary and Dave Campagna, Nettie and Dallas Turner, as well as numerous nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews. He will also be missed by his beloved Yorkies, Frankie, Markie, and Annie.
Dave proudly retired in January 2020 at the age of 70 after 30 years of dedicated service as a welder with Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh Corporation company.
Dave enjoyed many of life's simple pleasures. He loved fishing and hunting, but perhaps most of all, he enjoyed being surrounded by family. He could spend hours chatting, sharing stories, and reminiscing about his early life, especially with his grandchildren. His stories, humor, and willingness to share his time made countless memories that his family will cherish for years to come.
He will be sadly missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.
