Debra Rogers Latimer

Born on May 5, 1951, in Big Spring, Texas, Debra lived a life defined by faith, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a loyal friend, and a dedicated servant to her church community. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Debra graduated from the University of Texas and began her career as a medical technologist, where she played an important role in helping physicians diagnose and treat disease. After the birth of her first son, Drew, she made the heartfelt decision to devote herself full-time to raising her family. She embraced motherhood with boundless love and selflessness, creating a home filled with warmth, encouragement, and lasting memories.

In later years, Debra faithfully served at Northminster Presbyterian Church, where her dedication and caring nature touched the lives of countless members of the congregation. Her work there reflected her lifelong commitment to serving others with kindness and grace.

Outside of her work, Debra found joy in life’s simple pleasures and in the time she spent with those she loved. She was an avid reader who never passed up a good book, enjoyed leisurely walks on the beach with her family, and loved bringing people together over board games, jigsaw puzzles, and spirited games of mahjong. She also had a playful side and delighted in playing video games with her family, creating memories and laughter across generations. Whether enjoying a quiet afternoon with a puzzle or a lively evening of games, Debra cherished every opportunity to spend time with the people she loved most.

Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Myreta and Warner Rogers; her beloved husband, Tom Latimer; her cherished niece, Lindsey Neal; and her brother-in-law, Peter Latimer.

She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Drew Latimer and Brian Latimer. She was a devoted grandmother to Reese and Blake, children of Drew & Jennie Latimer, and Kiernan and Breanna, children of Brian & Jessica Latimer, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life. She is also survived by her sister, Laurie Rogers; her nephew, Michael Neal; her sister-in-law, Debra Latimer; her brother-in-law, John Latimer; her niece, Tess Latimer and her son, Kaileb; and her nephew, Sam Latimer and his daughters, Charlotte and Emory. Along with her family, Debra leaves behind many dear friends and members of her church family who will deeply miss her warmth, kindness, and unwavering friendship.

Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, Debra’s legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely, and the countless lives she touched through her compassion and generosity. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

A memorial service celebrating Debra’s life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 3131 61st Street, Sarasota, Florida 34243. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend as they gather to remember and celebrate a life marked by love, faith, service, and devotion to family.
