

Dona Lee Kelly (Tiny) was born in Bradenton, FL to James Nelson Kelly, Sr. and Rennie Lee Davis Kelly on May 27, 1940. She weighed 2.5 lbs. and was known around Bradenton General Hospital as Mrs. Larrabee’s (the Head Nurse) “miracle baby”. Tiny lived in Oneco for her whole life, attending Oneco School and graduating from Manatee County High School in 1958. Tiny worked at FL, Power & Light Co., Bradenton Small Animal Hospital for 33.5 years, was executive housekeeper at Hampton Inn, teacher’s aide to special needs children at Southeast High School and Willis Elementary. She felt this was her true calling as she spent many joyful years nurturing the students she dearly loved.
Tiny is survived by her daughter Dona D. Oliver and her son-in-law Rodney E. Oliver. One granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Oliver Ketron (Craig Ketron), and two great granddaughters, Elizabeth Anne (Libby) Oliver and Kelley Elyse Ketron, many beloved nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law Billy Romine. She is predeceased in death by her father and mother James Nelson Kelly, Sr. and Rennie Lee Davis Kelly. Her sisters Glenda Marie Kelly Duncan (Doyle), June Kelly Romine and her brother, James N. Kelly, Jr.
Tiny loved the Lord, her family, her church community and Gospel Music. She was a member of North Sarasota Church of God for forty years and Oneco First Baptist Church in her youth and later years of her life. Tiny referred to herself as a Christian first and a “Bapti-costal” at heart.
Funeral Service will be held at Oneco First Baptist Church 1700 51st Avenue East Bradenton, FL 34203 on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jimmy Norris, Oneco First Baptist Church and Pastor Michael Harrison, North Sarasota Church of God officiating. Burial will follow at Manasota Memorial Park 1221 53rd Avenue East Bradenton, FL 34203. Visitation will be held at Oneco Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
