Funeral services for Mr. Donald Leroy Senften of Sarasota will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 13, at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Rev. Jason Smith and Rev. Jared Clark will officiate the services with burial to follow at Sarasota National Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Senften was born on August 28, 1931 to Frederick Senften and Luenna Wendling in Canton, Ohio. He passed away on December 4, 2018 at Tidewell Hospice House in Bradenton. He was 87 years old. Mr. Senften was a business owner and a U.S. Army Veteran, proudly serving his country during the Korean War.
Mr. Senften is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Given Senften of Sarasota; daughter, Kathy Senften Fischer (Rick) of Bradenton; four grandsons, Scotty Simsa of Tampa, David Fischer of Bradenton, Douglas Fischer of Bradenton, and Joshua Senften of Orlando; granddaughter, Christina Beaver of Sarasota; and great-granddaughter, Aubrey Fischer of Indianapolis. Along with his parents, one son, Donald Lee Senften; and two daughters, Linda Sue Senften Simsa and Jennifer Renee Senften, precede him in death.
Pallbearers will be Rick Fischer, Scotty Simsa, David Fischer, Doug Fischer, Rev. Jason Smith and Rev, Jared Clark.
