Dearest Mike . Shane & whole family -
I know your grief behind words in a computer , but my heart aches for you, esp now as quiet times ahead .
~Doug was more than a person , but a presence !!! Missed beyond words...

His gift if Laughter Esp could make me laugh at myself til I cried laughing ...
I loved being target of his jokes as knew meant he loved me too... my hubby his brother, me the little sister could pick on.

Can’t imagine more no phone calls or visits ... enjoyed him here just before driving Shane ( soo proud of you !)
to college he visited, a few days , then Subia & Doug in Chareston ( Doug said I talked so much took all the oxygen out of city lol)
Funny boy.
He keeps popping in / out of mind til the other day I was in the car I said out loud
“ Doug , stop it!”
Heard in my mind I swear
“Woman call me Doulas get some respect I got wings now , believe that?”😁

Sounded just like his words .....

I Smiled as think he found peace he could not in this life & now knows how much he was truly loved , even though he pushed love away feeling didn’t deserve it... he now knows 💗 !!!

So glad to have spent extra time this year with a friend over 3 decades plus -
fun to hard times , blessings of our children to sickness .... damn miss him!!! ,

My condolences to all ... wanted to be in Fl but heath could not -thoughts conveyed I know by Johns words ~

That broken angel is laughing again.
With much love - Sherry

Dear Uncle Mike and cousins Amy, Claire, and Shane,
Our hearts go out to all of you and your families in this loss of Doug. The tribute video and the pictures gave me a glimpse of the cousin I barely knew, due to distance and age difference. I remember him as a fun loving guy with a good sense of humor, and the video bears that out.
Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Sincerely,
Ann
