

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eric Joseph Currie, age 46, of Sarasota Florida. Eric passed away on March 4th 2025 after a long and courageous battle with stomach cancer in his home surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Eric was a friend to everyone he met and had infectious energy and a passion for life. He was a dedicated husband and loving father to his two children. He was always there to lend a hand to people in need whether that meant helping someone move, remodeling, or by simply giving advice. He saw the good in people and put others before himself. He loved to travel, meet new people, and work with his hands; especially woodworking and home renovation projects. He loved watching sports of any kind, was an excellent athlete, and even had a passion for collecting and selling sports memorabilia. He fought bravely and tirelessly against his disease and kept a smile on his face until the very end.
Eric was a dedicated professional and business owner in the field of healthcare management where he made significant contributions and forged lasting relationships with colleagues and clients alike.
Eric was born in Eustis Florida on December 23rd, 1978 to Jack and Lynette Currie.
Eric graduated from Poinciana High school and went on to get a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He met his wife Coryn in college and after four years of dating they were married in Nashville Tennessee on February 11th 2006. They went on to have two children and lived in Franklin, Tennessee until July of 2021 when they moved to Sarasota, Florida.
Eric is survived by his loving wife Coryn, and their two children, Colton and Vivien, his parents Jack and Lynnette Currie, and his brothers Russell and Todd Currie.
A private graveside service for immediate family will be held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at Palms Memorial Park in Sarasota, Florida.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice in Eric’s name to honor his legacy of love and support for others.
