Géza Bánkuty left his family and friends much too soon. Born in Budapest, Hungary, on May 13, 1953, and passing away in Wauchula, Florida, on June 28, 2025, Géza lived a life full of love, laughter, adventure, and curiosity. Though his time was cut short, his memory remains vividly alive in all who knew him—forever young.
Géza is deeply loved and will always be remembered by his loving wife, Maria Bánkuty; his children, Christina (James) Bánkuty, Nichola (Victor) Bánkuty, and their mother Arleen Bánkuty; Géza (Colleen) Bánkuty, Jr. and his mother Lynn Lowell; and Géza’s grandchildren Briane, Layla, Austin, Alexis, Doriana, Elijah, and Elise. He is also survived by his devoted mother, Ilona Kamaran; his sister Judith (Jeffrey) Nickse; and nieces Alyson, Stephanie, Zsófi, Csillag, and Kata. He was predeceased by his father, Géza E. Bánkuty, and his sister, Anna Bánkuti. Géza also leaves behind Maria’s sons, Mondy (Vanessa) and their son Giovanni, and Attila, whom he cared for deeply.
His loyal dog, Kormos, was a constant companion —always by his side, offering comfort and love.
A passionate traveler and true adventurer at heart, Géza found joy and freedom riding motorcycles, paragliding, and exploring new places. His fearless spirit and deep appreciation for the world’s beauty made him a natural explorer—always eager to try something new or chart a path less traveled. He had a profound love for animals, and in true Géza fashion, even cared for pet alligators—a reflection of his bold and boundless nature.
To those who knew him, Géza was more than a husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend—he was a force of life. He brought energy and warmth wherever he went, lifting spirits with his humor, heart, and generous soul. His legacy lives on in the love he gave, the young adults he mentored, the adventures he pursued, and the bonds he nurtured throughout his life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 12, 2025, from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm, at The Lake Club Clubhouse. Family and Friends are invited to attend and share memories.
