Gloria grew up in Newark N.J. with her sister Rita, she attended Our Lady of Good Council Catholic School. She had many interests and talents. She was fluent in Spanish, was an accomplished pianist and taught piano, she wrote music, lyrics, and poems. Later in life Gloria attended Montclair State College in N.J. to study accounting and psychology. Gloria was a religious person, she even wrote a book, "The Last Call" on the subject she was passionate about. She married Dustin Koellhoffer in 1947. She was divorced 26 years later but stayed very good friends with Dustin for the rest of their lives. After a few moves Gloria and Dustin settled in West Caldwell N.J., where they raised their 6 children, Marty, Carol, Keith, Dusty, Greg and Jonna. She was a homemaker for many years but went back to work when the youngest started school. She had a long career in the accounting field. Gloria moved to Florida in 1979, most of her children and even her ex-husband followed her. She held a position in the accounting department of the Sarasota Herald Tribune newspaper in Sarasota Florida where she was well liked and respected until she retired 1989. Gloria loved to bowl so after retirement it was not surprising to find she joined 3 different bowling leagues. She made many new friends and her team never lacked for sponsors and the sponsors received many trophies from her winning teams. She always had her family around her and enjoyed the many family get togethers. Holidays and birthdays would find Gloria contributing to the party food with the dishes she was famous for. We are all going to miss the Thanksgiving sweet potatoes and the summer potato salad made with love by mom. Gloria always had nice positive things to say about everyone. She was truly a beautiful soul. We are going to miss our mother with all our heart. Mom not being in this would with us is an ache that will be with us forever. We love you Mom.
