Greg Silcox passed away peacefully with his son Parker by his side October 18, 2026, he was 62 years old. Born in Bradenton, FL, he graduated from Southeast High School in 1982. For the past 20 years Greg was employed by Sarasota Precision Engineering as a plastic injection mold maker. He was predeceased by his mother Mary Marlene Parker Horton of Mayo, FL.
Greg is survived by his son Parker Gregory Murphy of Sarasota. Greg will be remembered as a true friend and hard worker who loved to drag race motorcycles, fish and enjoy the outdoors at his home in Historic Oneco. Thank you to all his loyal friends and caregivers who surrounded him through his last days on Earth. Special thanks to the staff at Sarasota Hospice House who cared for Greg and assisted his son Parker during Greg’s last two weeks as he held vigil for his Dad.
Robert Toale & Sons at Manasota Memorial Park is handling arrangements. The family will hold a private Celebration of Life in November. Memorial contributions may be made in Greg’s name to Tidewell Foundation, 3550 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34239.
