Harlan “Mick” Michael Burkey, of Bradenton, Florida passed away August 20, 2019 at the age of 65. He was born April 10, 1954 in David City Nebraska to Duane and Barbara Overstreet Burkey.
Mick retired from his career in television and video production, and in 2014 he moved from San Francisco, CA to Bradenton, FL with his loving wife and best friend of 27 years, Michele Caruso. He enjoyed golfing with his good friends and pursuing his interests in travel, photography, history, and, of course, Nebraska Cornhuskers football. He loved a good conversation and he cherished his neighborhood community and the wonderful friends he met. Mick's passion for travel took him from the Civil War battlefields in the US, across much of Europe, to the childhood home of his historic hero, Napoleon Bonaparte in Corsica. A talented artist, Mick leaves a legacy of thoughtful, beautiful photographic artwork resulting from his many travels.
Mick brought joy, laughter, and love to all who knew him. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his dear friends and family. His time here was much too short.
