Héctor Luis Toledo April 15, 1942-January 1, 2020. Hector was born in Manati, PR. When he was 12 years old, his family moved to Hoboken, NJ and shortly thereafter to Paterson, NJ, in search of a better life. During his adult life and after marrying and having children, he moved his family to West Milford, NJ and subsequently to Franklin, NJ where he lived until June 2004. After the death of his first wife, Carmen Toledo, he decided to relocate to North Port, Florida. Hector was a one-of-a-kind man with a great sense of humor. He loved telling jokes and always had an answer for everything. He was an extremely hard worker whose main concern was the well-being of his family. He was an avid baseball aficionado. While living in NJ he played in many different leagues simultaneously; his passion being fast pitch. He was a great player! He and his brother, “Fifo”, were always the stars of the teams! During the Winter, he traveled to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic to play. He will surely be missed by many! He is survived by: his wife Maria Ramirez Toledo; siblings, Efrain Toledo of Clifton, NJ and Maria Toledo-Reyes, of Morovis, PR; his children Hayley Encarnacion of Franklin, NJ, Diana Villeda of Wayne, NJ, and Erik Toledo of North Port, Florida; grandchildren Stephanie Villeda of Bayonne, NJ, Michael Encarnacion of Franklin, NJ, Matthew Irizarry of Wallington, NJ, Christian Irizarry of Wallington, NJ, Nicholas Encarnacion of Franklin, NJ and G’iannis Toledo of North Port, FL. Cremation services will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2020. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, anyone desiring to make a donation should do so to the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice located at 99 Sparta Ave. Newton, NJ 07860. 973-383-0115. What can I say old man?? You were the one who taught me everything from being a man, playing sports and respecting women... You loved all of us unconditionally and was always felt... You got to meet and know your sixth grandchild and showed him nothing but love... You named Tuesday’s Gi’annis Tuesday... That was your day with him and as much as you looked forward to Tuesday’s, so did he... You are in the best place anybody can be, and you are at rest... I promised you that I will do all I can for this family... Watch over us and take care of mommy... I know the two of you are together and happy once again... I love you and wen the day comes, we will meet again... Take a shot of Remy for me up there...
Your Son,
Erik

Dear Cousins:

My heartfelt condolences to all. The most I remember of cousin Hector was his upbeat personality, constantly making jokes. The bond he had with my mom was so special, they would talk for hours. Now they’re all in heaven rejoicing. He will forever be in our hearts.
