Born on April 13, 1947, in Morioka, Japan, Hideo was a young boy with a big dream. Inspired by American music, fashion, and the spirit of the 1950s, he admired the energy of bands like The Beatles and imagined a life beyond the horizon of his hometown. With courage in his heart and determination in his hands, he set his sights on America.
In the early 1990s, Hideo fulfilled his vision of the American Dream. After traveling across the United States and building his knowledge in restaurant management, he founded the beloved restaurant chain “Taste of Tokyo.” From Bradenton to Sarasota, his restaurants became more than places to dine, they became gathering spaces filled with warmth, culture, and family spirit. Through his work, he supported many family members and touched countless lives.
Around 1980, Hideo met the love of his life, Fumi. Their partnership was built on devotion, shared dreams, and deep respect. Together they built not only businesses, but a strong and loving family.
The birth of their daughter, Eika Ivana, transformed Hideo’s world. She became his greatest pride and inspiration. He dreamed of her pursuing music and higher education, encouraging her to earn her Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and to follow her own beautiful path in life.
Hideo was known for his vibrant spirit, generous heart, and unwavering dedication to his family. He loved golf, fishing, traveling, and especially music. The melodies of The Beatles remained close to his heart throughout his life. Above all, he cherished every moment spent with his wife and daughter.
His legacy lives on through his loving wife, Fumi Horaguchi, and his beloved daughter, Eika Ivana Horaguchi. His strength, kindness, and dreams continue through them.
