

Jackson Arnold Huffman went home to heaven on March 17, 2016 after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife Nancy (Richardson) Huffman, his two daughters Paula (Sean) Murray and Denise (Keith) Granata, and six grandchildren – Jordan Granata, Connor Murray, Ryan Murray, Gavin Murray, Peyton Granata and Abbey Granata, all of Bradenton. He is survived by his sisters Charlotte Chandler and Nancy Hilliard, as well as his brothers Denver Huffman and Mike Huffman.
Jack was born in Alton, West Virginia on March 19, 1942 as the oldest child of Bud and Freida (Ware) Huffman. He graduated from Buckhannon High School in 1960 and joined the United States Air Force, where he served in Okinawa before being honorably discharged in 1964. He graduated from Ball State University in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and received his Master’s degree in 1968. Jack had a long and successful career in the building industry throughout the Midwest before moving to Bradenton, Florida with his family in 1982. He eventually opened his own custom home building company and built beautiful homes throughout Manatee and Sarasota counties before retiring in 1997.
Jack met his wife Nancy in 1962 at a dance at Bunker Hill Air Force Base in Peru, Indiana. They were married at First United Methodist Church in Sheridan, Indiana in 1963. They were happily married for 52 years and had two daughters. Jack loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He was a faithful member of the Methodist church for many years, and had most recently been a member of Evangel Baptist Church in Bradenton.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in his honor to Tidewell Hospice or the mission fund of Evangel Baptist Church.
