James Carroll Johnson, 81, of Bradenton, passed away September 16, 2013. He was preceded in death by his first wife, of 53 years, Carole T. Johnson. He is survived by his second wife, of 3 years, Doris Tudor.
Born June 5, 1932, in Bradenton, he was a son of the late Taylor and Dixie Romine Johnson. He was a United States National Guard veteran. He worked in Manatee County as a plasterer most of his life. He enjoyed fishing and golfing, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bradenton.
Survivors also include his son, Chris Johnson and wife Faye, of Bradenton; his daughter, Denise Cline and husband Larry, of Myakka; a brother, Harrison Taylor Johnson, of New Smyrna Beach; his sister, Betty Hicks and husband Henry, of Homosassa; five grandchildren, Shane and wife Danielle, Christy, Brant and wife Ashley, Ben and Dixie; and one great-granddaughter, Gianna.
A memorial service will be conducted at12:00 pm on Friday, September 20, 2013, at the First Baptist Church of Bradenton, by Dr. Rick Lineberger. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am -12:00 pm at the church, prior to the service at the church.
