Janet R. Brown

Janet R Brown, 84 of Vail AZ and Tampa FL, passed away on October 30th, 2023. She was born in Tampa Fl. Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother great grandmother, auntie, and friend. To her family was everything and she loved family and friends deeply. She also treasured, sunsets and the ocean.

Janet worshipped at Christ Community Church and found comfort in her faith. Her friends made sure she was able to get to church service, bible study and other social events. Some even met Wednesdays for lunch and pie.

She was preceded in death by her spouse Ward (Skip) Bown, her parents, Joseph Franklin Roberts, and Thelma Flynn and her 6 brothers. She is survived by her son Wayne Brown, three grandchildren Mart, Hunter, and Lauren and two great granddaughters ,Amara and Serenity, her Sister-in-law Peggy and family, and other nieces and nephews and their children.

She was known for being an amazing cook and baker, The neighborhood enjoyed her potato salad among many other dishes and with the pool in the backyard of Vail they could play and BBQ and pretend they were in Tampa while they enjoyed the sunsets of the desert. She loved to travel with her friends and nieces. She was treasured for the love and guidance she gave her grandchildren.

She loved the holidays, decorating and entertaining for family, friends, and neighbors. Anyone that knew Janet, knew she loved anything Elvis Presley and played his music often. She loved watching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

She graduated from Plant High school in Tampa Fl and worked in the banking industry for many years before moving to AZ. She loved going to church and was also in a widow’s support group. In both she made dear friends who she enjoyed spending time with at church, social events and traveling.

A gathering of friends & family for Janet will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park, 1221 53rd Ave East, Bradenton, FL 34203.

A celebration of life service will occur Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, 1221 53rd Ave East, Bradenton, FL 34203. A burial will occur Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Manasota Memorial Park, 1221 53rd Ave East, Bradenton, FL 34203. A reception will occur Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 1221 53rd Ave East, Bradenton, FL 34203.
