Joan W. Smith, 91, died peacefully Jan.9, 2024 at Crescent Health in Sarasota, Fl. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Joan married Melvin Smith in 1968 and lived in Mansfield, Ohio until Melvin's death in 2020. After MeIvin's passing Joan moved to Delaware, Ohio to live with her daughter and son-in law.
Joan worked and retired from Therm-O-Disc after 26 years. She was most definitely an animal lover and contributed to many related charities. She had a passion for reading, working with flowers, playing cards and her absolute favorite, going out to eat. She loved her bus trips traveling with the Richland Bank Freedom Years program and taking golfcart rides and meals with the "Lake Erie" gang.
She is survived by daughter, Sharon Bingaman and son-in-law, Melvin Williamson, sister Ginny Schneider, stepdaughter, Julie Dillon, step granddaughter, Amber Doup and her family.
Joan was predeceased by son, Michael Bingaman, stepson Jason Smith and ex-husband, Lee Bingaman.
My pretty mama will be missed by many.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
