I remember when you spent some time with me in NYC.  I will never forget the hugs you gave me and the love you gave me. I will forever miss you. But NEVER will forget you. I LOVE YOU MUCHO MADRINA.

I met Fina in Ponce  in 1987 and all I can remember was her sense of humor and beautiful laughter.  She was such a giving person and always took care of others.  When she came to NYC we took her to Orchard beach where she sported her new bathing suit. We had a great time. She loved her boys and would do anything for them. She was very lucky to have Gary and his wonderful partner take care of her until the end. Thank you.

Though I did not have the privilege to meet this lovely lady, it's as if I had, by means of her wonderful son. 

Madam, testimony  to your raising and rearing of Edgar is proof of your having taken that responsibility seriously. 

Given Duran's and my countless sharings and conversations, I exclaim JOB WELL DONE, madam.

Cuanto lamento tu pérdida. Nosotros como hijos nos resta saber que hicimos lo que debíamos hacer por ellos en el tiempo que ellos estuvieron con nosotros. Hoy tu mami vuela alto y descansa en paz. Recuérdala siempre con una hermosa sonrisa y dándote un abrazo, así llegará a tus sueños.  Te envió un gran abrazo.

Fina gracias por todo tu cariño desde el día uno en que te conocí. Llegé a tu familia para siempre. Gran ser humano, madre, abuela y mi suegra querida. Llegó el momento de descansar en paz. Vuela alto mi reina.

Por ayudar a mami en mi cumple #8, por dejarme jugar con los imanes de la nevera..por dejarme dormir en los muebles de ratan cuando veiamos las novelas y mami se volvia loca buscandome por toda la Calzada hasta que llegaba a tu casa gritando "Josephine ay esta Selyna??? por el jamón con piña todos los dias de Reyes, por mi gato Sylvester, en fin por abrirme las puertas de tu casa junto a Eggie Nunez cada vez que me aparecia...que fueron bastantes veces. Que Dios te brinde un rayito de luz siempre y se que cuidarse a los tuyos desde el cielo. DEP

Fue difícil verla partir pero ustedes sus hijos pueden estar tranquilos y en paz porque ha pesar de haber sido una etapa difícil ella estuvo bien atendida y siempre rodeada de mucho amor.  
Te voy ha extrañar mi “Puchunga” aprendí mucho en el corto tiempo que te conocí y me alegrabas con tus expresiones de cariño tus sonrisas. Que descanses en paz y ahí nos veremos algún día!!!


One is never prepared for the departure of a parent.  It hurts to think of their absence.  Anything from a scent, a place, a sound,
without thinking it activates a memory.  As a son, I dedicated myself to taking care of you, giving my heart.  Thanks to different sources (internet, people) I learned tools that helped me make your stay and your care  a unique one.  And as your condition changed, I had to figure out how to modify what I had learned.  It was a difficult path but not  an impossible one.  I had many beautiful people who supported me and lifted me up when I didn't have the strength to carry on.  Although I feel the satisfaction of having given you quality of life and having everyone remind me that I gave you everything and more, for me I feel that I did not give you enough.  My mind and heart went into battles many times but my heart always won.  Today I let you leave physically but never  will you abandon my mind,  my heart.  With your limited knowledge you became an excellent human being, dedicated mother and a friend.  We your children will be fine, visit me in my dreams.  Thank you for all  your sacrifices. I love you

Uno nunca está preparado para la partida de un padre. Duele pensar su ausencia. Cualquier cosa desde un olor , un lugar, un sonido,
 sin estar pensándolo, activa un recuerdo. Como hijo me dediqué a cuidarte entregando mi corazón.  Gracias a diferentes medios ( internet, personas) aprendí herramientas que me ayudaron a hacer tu estancia y cuido uno único. Y según tu condición cambiaba, yo tenía que ingeniarmelas para modificar lo aprendido. Fue un camino difícil pero no imposible. Conté  con mucha gente linda que me apoyaron y me levantaron cuando no tenía la fortaleza. Aunque siento la satisfacción de haberte dado calidad de vida y tener a todos recordandome que te dí todo y más, para mi siento que no te dí suficiente. Mi mente y corazón entraron en batallas muchas veces pero siempre ganó mi corazón. Hoy te dejo partir en físico pero nunca de mi mente, de mi corazón.  Con tus  conocimientos limitados fuiste un excelente ser humano, madre dedicada y amiga. Nosotros tus hijos vamos a estar bien, visitame en mis sueños. Gracias y te amo.

Dear mom, may you rest your soul and thank you for being such a great mother. You will live forever in our hearts. Me Your oldest son Rafael, Deseriee y your grandson Jerry will never forget you. Nos veremos en la nueva Gloria.

When I think of Fina, I will remember how happy she always looked when we would see you bring her by the office or take her out for Mexican, what meticulous, selfless care you always took of her, how you always took care to make sure she looked nice, was comfortable, took time & made sure she had fun.  You gave her a great, warm family,  loved her unconditionally,  and respected her wishes.  She was an amazing lady, and you were lucky to have each other.   I pray that your good memories & your good friends bring you comfort.  Godspeed, Fina!  You will be missed.
