

Julius (Bud) Surgnier passed away on June 30, 2016 in Bradenton, FL. He was born in Avon Park, FL on November 1, 1928. Julius graduated from Bradenton High School and served in the U.S. Air Force in Germany, after WWII. He met the love of his life, Bonnie Bolin, while recouping from an injury in a hospital in Augusta, Georgia, where Bonnie was a registered nurse. They were married in September, 1951. Julius attended West Bradenton Baptist Church and was part of the charter membership. He was a member of the Bradenton Elks Lodge for over 40 years. He worked for the Florida Highway Patrol in Miami, Ft. Myers, and Bradenton and then as an agent for Allstate Insurance, retiring after 25 years of service. He leaves his loving wife of 64 years, Bonnie and children Sandy Battle and Terry Surgnier (Rhonda), grandchildren Summer Jerla (Tom), Stephanie Battle Mollison (Ki), Shane Battle (Ashley), Travis Surgnier, and Scott Battle, greatgrandchildren Ashton, T.J., and Jackson, and brothers Esly & Walter (Judy). He was preceded in death by his father Arthur, mother Blandena, brothers Charlie and Dean, and sister, Sherry. Visitation will be held Friday, July 8, 2016 at The Manasota Funeral Home 1221 53rd Ave. E, Bradenton FL. from 10am to 11am with a funeral service to follow at 11am.
