Born on July 10, 1951, to the late Warren and Beatrice Young, Kenny was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
He is survived by his brother, Robert “Bob” Young (Lisa); daughters Jennifer McKee (Trevor) and Cynthia Crews (Matt); nieces, nephew, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and many friends.
His grandchildren knew and loved him as “Popi,” a title he wore with incredible pride. Brianna, Josh (Shelby), Alyssa, and Ethan each held a special place in his heart, and he loved watching them grow into the people they are today. His joy grew even greater when he became a great-grandfather to twins Saraya and Sasha. Being Popi was one of the greatest blessings of his life, and the love, memories, stories, and lessons he shared with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren will remain with them always.
Kenny also shared a very special bond with his beloved grand-furbaby, Zoey. She quickly became an important part of his everyday life, and he often planned his day around her daily visits. One of their favorite routines was taking car rides together down to the boat ramp—a simple tradition that brought Kenny so much joy. Zoey wasn’t just a grand-furbaby; she was his little sidekick and a cherished part of his family.
Kenny was a man set in his ways and wasn’t easily persuaded otherwise, but that was part of what made him Kenny. He was the person everyone knew they could call when something needed fixing, because there wasn’t much he couldn’t figure out or repair. More importantly, he was always willing to lend a hand, share what he knew, and help anyone who needed him. If Kenny could fix it, build it, or find a way to make it work, he would—and you could always count on him to be there when it mattered.
His family is thankful for all the years, memories, laughter, and love they shared with him. His stories and the legacy he leaves as “Dad,” “Popi,” “Brother,” “Uncle,” and friend will live on for generations.
