Kline Don Reed

Born: June 29, 1926 in Fulton County, Indiana.

Died: June 25, 2015 in Bradenton, Florida

Don grew up in Rochester, Indiana where he played high school basketball and then went on to play at Indiana University.

He married his high school sweetheart, Gerry Schafer, on December 15th, 1946. They were happily married for 68 years.

Don worked for Armour Meat Corporation for 35 years where he moved all over the country holding a variety of positions in the company. His vast knowledge of the meat packing business lead to his important position as Vice President and General Manager of the ConAgra Distribution Company. In his retirement he enjoyed life on the shores of Lake Michigan and in the golf course community where he lived in Bradenton, Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Gerry Reed; daughters Pat Lurtsema; Pam Castor; and Debby (Reed) Howard, son's in law; Tom Lurtsema and Richard Howard and his 6 grandchildren: Karie, Kelly, Justin, Andrew, Paige and TJ. He also has 8 great grandchildren: Taylor, Lauren, Sierra, Haley, Hunter, Isabella,, Adriana, and Otis Kline.
